State Assay Laboratory

About the laboratory

The State Laboratory for Assay Analysis of the Unidragmet BSU is a specialised unit that prepares samples, collects samples and performs accurate quantitative analysis of the precious metal content in various objects: natural and man-made materials, industrial waste, products and alloys.

The laboratory is accredited by the national accreditation system of the Republic of Belarus, which confirms that its activities comply with the requirements of STB ISO/IEC 17025, an international standard regulating the work of testing and calibration laboratories. The accreditation certificate is valid until 7 May 2030.

Main areas of analytical research

Classical assay analysis

To determine the content of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium in pure alloys and materials with low precious metal content (catalysts, waste, scrap, ores)

Х-ray fluorescence spectral analysis (XRF)

For rapid assessment of the composition of alloys and scrap

Gravimetric and volumetric methods

Reference methods for determining gold and silver

Determination of impurities in high-purity precious metals in the form of ingots and granules

Including for delivery to the State Fund of the Republic of Belarus

Comprehensive assessment of raw materials

Including used automotive catalysts, chemical/petrochemical catalysts, bulk waste, etc.
